Seven Signs in John At the conclusion of Jesus' miracle of changing water into wine at the wedding in Cana, John wrote that this was the "first of the signs" that Jesus performed (2:11). Unlike the other three gospels, which describe such wondrous acts as "miracles," John used the word "signs" to depict Jesus' miracles.
