Christian maturity is about moving beyond the basics of our new life in Christ to the expansive truths of transformation and development in Christlikeness.
In the New Testament, references to milk are almost always used in regard to growth in grace and Christian maturity. Only one passage refers to milk in positive terms, as something new believers should "crave" (1 Peter 2:2).
